We are pleased to share our attendance at the 1st Congress of Horta de Catalunya, a significant event that explored the strategic importance and future outlook of the horticulture sector in our country. This congress, organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), provided a unique platform for collectively assessing the current state of the sector and discussing future challenges and opportunities.
A major highlight of this event was the presentation of the new administrative strategy, which includes promoting horticulture in Catalonia as a strategic sector, advancing toward food self-sufficiency, and reducing the environmental and social impact of horticultural production. This approach is of particular significance to Cornucopia Sustainable Farming SL and underscores our commitment as a responsible and sustainable company.
During the Congress, we attended several thought-provoking presentations, including one by Jordi Cunillera , Head of the Climate Change Unit at the Meteorological Service of Catalonia. He presented compelling data on the rising temperatures in Catalonia, the concerning state of drought in the region, and climate projections for the future. We also highlight the presentation by Joan Simó Cruanyes, Director of R+D+i at Grup Ametller Origen, who emphasized the prominent role of modern and efficient greenhouse technologies.
Overall, our participation in the 1st Congress of Horta de Catalunya was an extremely enriching experience that reflects our collective efforts to have a positive and lasting impact on our planet.
